About Trish
Trish Campbell is a Melbourne-based abstract artist whose work explores the intersection of natural and man-made environments through painting, printmaking, and collage.
Inspired by the landscapes of Wurundjeri and Noongar Country, her practice reflects on the marks of human intrusion on ancient lands and the stories embedded in found textures and patterns.
Trish’s process involves printing directly from asphalt road and pathway lines, capturing their accidental and unpredictable textures. These impressions are reimagined into abstract landscapes on canvas and paper, symbolising the tension and transformation between traditional land use and colonial structures. Her work highlights the beauty in deterioration and weathering, connecting surface patterns to deeper narratives of place.
A graduate of Melbourne University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Arts Education, Trish taught in secondary schools until 2018. She has exhibited at venues such as Aerie Gallery and Burrinja in Upwey as part of the Dandenong Ranges Open Studios. Her art continues to explore the evolving relationship between people, land, and history.
